With new guidance from the United States Preventive Services Task Force that recommends against the use of some vitamins for disease prevention, it can be difficult to know when vitamins should and should not be encouraged. This Podcast will summarize the new recommendations and review clinical situations when vitamins may be helpful or harmful.

Dr. Bekah Meyers is a Community PGY-1 resident at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Meyers’ primary fields of interest are underserved and underinsured patients in the outpatient setting. As a pharmacist, she has immersed herself in Spanish-speaking patient care experiences to improve patient understanding of medications and increase their access to healthcare.
Dr. Amanda Place is a board-certified Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacy specialist at the St. Vincent Joshua Max Simon Primary Care Center in Indianapolis, IN, where she provides pharmaceutical care, including medication therapy management and disease state management. She also serves as an educational resource for the medical residents, acts as a pharmacy residency preceptor, and is the residency program director of the Community-based PGY1 and the Ambulatory Care PGY2 Pharmacy Residency Programs at her institution.
