The focus on this podcast will be on providing updates on the available COVID-19 Vaccines with EUA, with particular emphasis on the most recent one to be approved: Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. This podcast will cover information related to storage requirements, preparation and administration instructions, and efficacy and safety data. This podcast will compare and contrast the three available vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, and J&J) to summarize their similarities and differences. Finally, this podcast will include brief information regarding anticipated EUA updates such as new age approvals for the Pfizer vaccine.

Deanna Moretz, PharmD, BCPS, is currently employed by Oregon State University College of Pharmacy as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with the Drug Use Research and Management (DURM) team. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy in 1984 from the State University of New York at Buffalo. After completing her initial degree, Deanna pursued a hospital residency at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. In 2000, she completed her PharmD training at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has extensive experience as an acute care practitioner in a variety of hospital environments for over 30 years. Participation in professional organizations has been very important to Deanna throughout her pharmacy career. She has been an OSHP member since moving to Oregon from North Carolina in 2003 and actively participated on various committees including Pharmacy Week, Educational Affairs, and Annual Seminar. She served on the OSHP Board of Directors as EAC Co-Chair and Secretary from 2004 through 2010. In 2014 she was elected as OSHP President-elect and served as OSHP President from 2015 to 2016. One of her responsibilities as OSHP President was to serve as the regional delegate to ASHP’s House of Delegates from 2015 through 2017. After completing her term as OSHP President, Deanna was recruited to serve on the ASHP Commission for Affiliate Relations from 2016-2019. Currently, Deanna is serving as Secretary for the ASHP Section Advisory Group on Emerging Sciences. She is also co-chairing the OSHP Membership Committee for the third consecutive year.
Rebekah Bartholomew is a current PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Resident. Her primary interests are in diabetes, cardiovascular disease risk reduction, HIV, and ensuring equitable care for underserved patients.
