This podcast highlights the utility of the Practice Advancement Initiative (PAI) 2030 Self-Assessment Tool designed to help respondents determine how well their practice settings align with the PAI 2030 recommendations. ASHP’s PAI 2030 provides pharmacy teams with guidance for advancing healthcare, patient outcomes, and pharmacy practice through 59 recommendations. The PAI 2030 Self-Assessment Tool identifies areas for improvement and a list of priorities for implementing change can be developed.

Erica Diamantides, PharmD, MHA, BCPS is the Specialty Pharmacy Manager for the University of Washington (UW) Medicine in Seattle, WA. Diamantides earned her PharmD from Northeastern University, followed by a health system pharmacy administration and leadership residency combined with an MHA at UW Medicine. Diamantides serves as the Chair of the Washington State Pharmacy Association (WSPA) Health Systems Academy and is also involved in ASHP’s Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners.
Tyler Vest, Pharm.D., M.S., BCPS, BCSCP is a Pharmacy Manager of Automation, Medication Distribution, and Controlled Substances at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Education at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy in Chapel Hill, NC. His current interest areas are Acute Care Operations, Leadership Development, Oncology, Practice, and Pharmacy Technician Advancement, Pharmacy Practice and Distribution Models, Productivity and Monitoring, and The Medication Use Process. Tyler is actively involved in the profession.
Eric Maroyka, Pharm.D., BCPS, is Senior Director, Center on Pharmacy Practice Advancement at ASHP. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy and Pharm.D. from Rutgers University and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Previously, he was the Director of Pharmacy at Fauquier Health in Warrenton, Virginia and served over 22 years in the United States Army working in a variety of pharmacy and senior healthcare leadership roles.
