Join Dr. Brooke Hudspeth as she interviews Dr. Alex Swick and Dr. Shanna Whitwell to discuss this new document and mobilize widespread adoption of these consensus-based best practices.

Alex Swick (he/him), PharmD, MBA, obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy from The Ohio State University and his Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport. He is currently the manager of outpatient pharmacy services at Nationwide Children's Hospital. In this role, Swick oversees operations at multiple retail pharmacy sites throughout the health system, and is committed to promoting medication safety, developing pharmacy practitioners, and advancing community pharmacy practice.
Shanna Whitwell (she/her), PharmD, is the outpatient pharmacy operations manager at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center’s (MBMC) Baptist Family Pharmacy. She graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Auburn University's Harrison College of Pharmacy and has worked in community pharmacy for over 10 years. Shanna is also the residency program director for the newly established post graduate year 1 Community Based Pharmacy Residency Program at MBMC.
Brooke Hudspeth (she/her), PharmD, CDCES, is the associate dean for pharmacy practice at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. She has practiced in community and ambulatory pharmacy settings for 20 years, serving as a diabetes care pharmacist and program coordinator for an American Diabetes Association–recognized Diabetes Self-Management Education Program and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-recognized Diabetes Prevention Program. Hudspeth’s practice interests include innovative pharmacy practice models that improve patient access to care.
