This podcast will explore palliative care as a specialty and why and how all pharmacists should incorporate palliative care principles into their practice.
SPEAKERS
Maria Foy, PharmD, BCPS, CPE is a clinical pharmacy specialist in Palliative Care at Jefferson Abington Hospital Jefferson Health. Maria graduated from Temple University with a BS in Pharmacy and received a non-traditional PharmD from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. In 2013, Maria earned her board certification in pharmacotherapy (BCPS). Maria has lectured on pain management, symptom management, chronic pain and substance use disorder topics nationally and locally.
Traci White, PharmD, PhC, BCGP received her PharmD degree from the UNM College of Pharmacy and completed a PGY-1 residency at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA. She is a board-certified geriatric pharmacist and completed the ASHP Foundation Pain and Palliative Care Traineeship in 2013. She currently works as an oncology and palliative care clinical pharmacy specialist at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM and is an assistant professor for the UNM College of Pharmacy.
Kashelle Lockman, PharmD, MA, is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, a 2019 Cambia Health Foundation Sojourns Scholar, and a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Palliative Care at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She is the co-director of the University of Iowa Certificate in Palliative Care and the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy Teaching and Learning Curriculum for residents and fellows.
