In this episode, Dr. Brittany Meilinger joins us to talk about one health system’s experiences using drones for delivery of specialty medications – including a discussion of their policies, challenges and opportunities related to their drone delivery program.

Brittany Meilinger, PharmD, has served in various roles throughout her career in pharmacy, with her most recent role a clinical pharmacist at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Center Specialty Pharmacy. Prior to this role, she served as pharmacy manager for Novant Health Specialty & Home Delivery Pharmacy, in Charlotte, NC for 4 years. Brittany received her PharmD at Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C. and is currently pursuing her MBA, with a focus on Healthcare Administration.
Gabrielle Pierce, PharmD, MBA is the Director for the Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners at ASHP. Prior to this role, Dr. Pierce served as an ASHP Executive Fellow in Association Leadership and Management. She received her Bachelor’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Master of Business Administration, and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of South Carolina. Following this, she completed an ASHP-accredited postgraduate year 1 residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago within their Specialty Pharmacy Services team.
