Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation and Compliance Position FTE Justification

In this podcast episode, listeners will learn about the many roles Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation & Compliance positions play in specialty pharmacy leadership and operations. In addition, listeners will be provided with examples of duties and responsibilities coordinated and/or managed by these positions that necessitate advocacy for these roles.

Tara KelleyTara Kelley, PharmD, MMHC, CSP, is a pharmacist with 15 years of experience in hospital, retail, and specialty pharmacy practice and is the executive director of Specialty Pharmacy Services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, with over 8 years of experience in clinical and call center operations, patient access, accreditation, compliance, outcomes research, market access, trade relations, contracting, management and strategy. She is currently serving as immediate past chair for the ASHP Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners Executive Committee.

Lisa KumorLisa Kumor, PharmD, BCACP, is the assistant director, Accreditation and Residency, with Specialty Pharmacy Services at University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System and clinical assistant professor with the University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy. She serves as the residency program director for the postgraduate year-1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program in Specialty Pharmacy. She is an active participant and past chair of the Accreditation & Compliance SAG within the Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners. 

Kate LewisKate Lewis, PharmD, BCPS, BS, is the specialty pharmacy supervisor at Froedtert Home Delivery & Specialty Pharmacy in Milwaukee, WI. Kate received her Bachelor of Science at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois, Chicago. She completed a postgraduate year 1 Acute Care Residency and PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration Residency at Froedtert Hospital. She is an active member of Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW), Acentrus Specialty Limited Distribution Drug Committee, and ASHP. 

Chris MillerChris Miller, PharmD, MBA, BCPS, is the manager of Pharmacy Compliance and Regulatory for Novant Health. His team has responsibility for all compliance and regulatory efforts for pharmacy spaces throughout the health-system. This includes acute care with TJC, IV rooms with USP, maintenance of policies and procedures, any permits, and licenses, as well as URAC and ACHC readiness for the specialty pharmacies. 

Chelsea MaierChelsea Maier, PharmD, CSP, is the specialty pharmacy manager at UofL Health in Louisville, KY. She has assisted with the opening of 340b eligible hospital clinics and initiating pharmacist professional billing within the health system. In her current role, she is responsible for maintaining Specialty Pharmacy accreditations, optimizing pharmacy, and serving as chair of our Quality Management Program. Chelsea currently serves as the vice chair of the ASHP Section Advisory Group on Accreditation and Compliance. 

Rebecca NugentRebecca (Becky) Nugent, PharmD, is the clinical lead – Operations for Nationwide Children’s Hospital Specialty Pharmacy in Columbus, Ohio. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Specialty Pharmacy call center as well as compliance with accreditation standards. Dr. Nugent obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. Her interests include specialty pharmacy operations with a focus on providing the highest quality health care for children. 

Rebecca YoonRebecca Yoon, PharmD, CSP, CHC, is the director of compliance, quality and performance improvement for Specialty Pharmacy Services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Her primary responsibilities include leading accreditation processes, overseeing the development of educational training, facilitating quality/compliance/safety initiatives, and managing other quality-related activities such as policy management, auditing, and REMS program participation.
