This podcast will feature mentor-mentee pairs that participated in the inaugural cohort of the ASHP Guided Mentorship Program. Mentors and mentees will share insights of their experience with the program, reasons for pursuing a professional mentoring relationship, and tips for candidates considering the program.
SPEAKERS
Dr. Donald Moore is the hematology/oncology clinical pharmacy manager at Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Steward St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He has been a member of ASHP’s Emerging Sciences Section Advisory Group since 2018 and recently served as the Hematology/Oncology Roundtable Discussion Leader at the 2021 Midyear Clinical Meeting.
Karen L. Kier, BSPh, MSc, PhD, BCPS, BCACP, CTTS, FASHP, FCCP is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Director of Drug and Health Information at the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy, as well as a Preventive Care Specialist at ONU HealthWise. Dr. Kier serves as a resident preceptor and research consultant. She is a founding member and past president of the West Central Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists, past board member for the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and long-standing ASHP delegate.
Agnes Musyoka is a 3rd-year Doctor of Pharmacy Candidate at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health. She is a pharmacy intern at Walgreens and a member of student organizations within the College (Rho Chi, P3 Class Treasurer, and COPPS Ambassadors). She intends to pursue a PGY-1 residency with interests in ambulatory care, diabetes management, and clinical pharmacy. She enjoys traveling and being with family and friends.
Tyler Howse is from a small town called Moriarty, New Mexico. He completed his undergraduate degrees in Biology and Psychology at the University of New Mexico, as well as a Master’s in Business and Administration. He is currently a third-year pharmacy student at the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy. He hopes to attend an HSPAL residency after graduation. In his free time, Tyler enjoys traveling and running marathons.
Victoria Grusauskas is a 4th year pharmacy student who will be graduating from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in May 2022. After graduation, she will pursue a PGY1 Residency at Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Medical Center, an academic medical center in South Florida. Victoria has been an active member with ASHP including Chair of Residency Preparedness Advisory Group & a recipient of the ASHP Student Leadership Award.
Dr. Luchen serves as the ASHP director of Member Relations for the Sections of Pharmacy Educators and Community Pharmacy Practitioners. In this role, Dr. Luchen leads initiatives that influence practice and education across the care continuum. Dr. Luchen completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Kansas, a postgraduate year 1 Community-Based Residency with the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy and Balls Food Stores, and the Executive Fellowship in Association Leadership and Management at ASHP.
