In this podcast episode of Educator Essentials, we invite Dr. Timothy Brown to discuss ways that faculty and preceptors can incorporate LGBTQ+ health education. Dr. Tim Brown is the Director of Interprofessional Education for the University of Georgia’s (UGA) College of Pharmacy and a Professor in Pharmacology and Toxicology for Augusta University Medical College of Georgia and UGA Partnership, participating in the education of student pharmacists and student physicians.

SPEAKERS

Tim BrownDr. Tim Brown is the Director of IPE for University of Georgia’s College of Pharmacy and Professor, Pharmacology at Augusta University Medical College of Georgia and UGA Partnership, as well as a former ASHP board member.  Brown is the host of UGA’s “PharmCast for the Community” and moderator of several community panels to expand medical and pharmacy curricula to integrate the care of the LGBTQ+ patients.

Gina LuchenGeorgia (Gina) Galanou Luchen serves as the Director of Member Relations at ASHP, serving as staff liaison to the Section of Pharmacy Educators and Section of Community Pharmacy Practitioners. In this role, Dr. Luchen leads the development and implementation of programs and resources related to pharmacy learners, schools and colleges of pharmacy, and pharmacy educators. She also leads initiatives related to community pharmacy practitioners and their impact throughout the care continuum. Dr. Luchen is a graduate of ASHP's Executive Fellowship in Association Leadership and Management in Bethesda, MD. She received her Bachelor’s in Pharmaceutical Studies and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1 Community-Based Residency at the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in conjunction with Balls Food Stores in Olathe, KS.
