The COVID-19 pandemic has required pharmacist preceptors to rethink how to deliver APPE and resident rotations within our health systems. This podcast will explain a successful model implemented within an ambulatory care setting.
SPEAKERS
Edward Saito is an Associate Professor with Pacific University School of Pharmacy and a clinical pharmacist with Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center. He also serves as Residency Program Director for the school’s PGY2 Residency Program in Ambulatory Care & Academia. He has served on the ASHP Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners SAG for Clinical Practice Advancement for the past five years and was recently elected to represent Oregon in the ASHP House of Delegates.
Charles Bodreau is a clinical pharmacist with expertise in the management of various chronic conditions. He completed a PGY-1 Residency at Providence Health & Services in Portland, OR and a PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Residency at Legacy Health in Portland, OR. He has the opportunity to practice at the top of his license as an Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist at University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY.
Yvette Grando Holman obtained her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Washington State University, and PharmD from the University of Florida. She is board certified in pharmacotherapy and Fellow of the Oregon Society of Health-System Pharmacists where she’s held the offices of President, Annual Seminar Chair, and Membership Chair. She works as a Population Health Pharmacist for Legacy Health in Portland OR, where she is a preceptor for residents and the system-wide student APPE Coordinator.
Skyler Suchovsky graduated from Pacific University School of Pharmacy in 2020. He is now a PGY-1 resident at Children's Hospital Colorado. His interests include pediatrics, critical care, emergency medicine, and infectious disease.
