In this podcast, we chat with Jessica Skelley, Pharm.D., BCACP, Associate Professor at Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy about ways to define learner roles within the interprofessional learning environment and ensure that pharmacy students and residents are afforded learning opportunities to maximize their growth and role within the healthcare team.

SPEAKERS

Jessica SkelleyJessica W. Skelley is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Samford University and a clinical pharmacist at Christ Health Center in Birmingham, Alabama, where she holds a dual faculty appointment with the family medicine residency program and also serves as RPD of the PGY2 Pharmacy Residency program in Ambulatory Care. She maintains active memberships in AACP, AlSHP, and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, where she currently serves as Chair of the Executive Committee of the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners.

Gina LuchenGina Luchen, Pharm.D. serves as the Director of Academic Programs at ASHP. In this role, Dr. Luchen leads the development and implementation of programs and initiatives related to student pharmacists, schools and colleges of pharmacy, and pharmacy educators. She serves as staff liaison to the Pharmacy Student Forum and Section of Pharmacy Educators. Prior to this role, Dr. Luchen served as an ASHP Executive Fellow in Association Leadership and Management at ASHP. She received her Bachelor’s in Pharmaceutical Studies and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. Following her studies, she completed a PGY1 Community-Based Residency at the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in conjunction with Balls Food Stores in Olathe, KS.
