We speak with three pharmacy leaders that have organizational responsibility for pharmacy and other clinical service lines. This is a growing phenomenon in healthcare and this podcast episode shares their insights and learnings with managing additional service lines.

Rick Couldry, MS, RPh, FASHP, PharmD is the Vice-President, Pharmacy and Health Professions at The University of Kansas Health System. He has served as Director-at-Large and Chair for the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders and the District Director for the Kansas Council of Health-system Pharmacists. Mr. Couldry was honored to receive the UMKC School of Pharmacy Alumni Service Award for Health System Pharmacy in 2011 and the Harold N. Godwin Leadership Legacy Award in 2014.
John Pastor, PharmD, FASHP, FMSHP serves as system vice president for M Health Fairview and brings over 30 years of experience in healthcare and leadership to the team. He has system responsibility for pharmacy, respiratory care and genetic counseling services. John is actively involved in pharmacy professional organizations including ASHP and is passionate about leadership development, pharmacy advocacy and developing the next generation of practitioners and pharmacy leaders.
Carrie Morton, PharmD, MBA is the Vice President of Centers of Excellence for Deaconess Health System, an 11 hospital health system based in Evansville, IN. After becoming the System Administrative Director for Pharmacy Services she expanded her responsibilities to also oversee laboratory and radiology services. Dr. Morton later transitioned into a newly created VP Centers of Excellence role where she oversees over sees oncology, orthopedics, neurology, mental health, pediatrics, nephrology, vascular, pulmonary and GI.
Michelle Borchart PharmD, BCPS is a Pharmacy Clinical Manager at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital. Michelle received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota and completed a PGY1 residency at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview. Following residency, Michelle stayed on as a clinical pharmacist then moved to Fairview Southdale where she took the role as a Clinical Specialist. She then moved to the Clinical Manager position a little over 7 years ago.
