ASHP’s Executive Forum on Cold Chain Management convened virtually on April 19 to review the current state of pharmaceutical cold chain management in health systems. The event was the first in a series of executive forums on cold chain management and part of the ASHP Innovation Center’s efforts to influence innovation and digital transformation to advance the safe and effective use of medicines. This podcast explores key takeaways from the executive forum event and the importance of the pharmaceutical cold chain to public health needs.

Richard Montgomery is Adventist Health System pharmacy contracts and operations manager, where he has responsibility for 40 hospitals in 7 states and many non -acute healthcare settings.
Richard is active at both the state and national pharmacy organizations, including past-President of the Florida Society of Health System Pharmacists and FHSP Pharmacist of the year in 2011.
Richard recently finished his term with the Florida Board of Pharmacy, serving as chairman for the 2020 session.
Bayli Larson, PharmD, MS, BCPS is strategic initiatives associate at ASHP. In her role she helps manage and lead a variety of collaborative cross-organizational strategic activities to help advance ASHP’s mission and vision and is also co-coordinator of the ASHP Executive Fellowship in Association Leadership and Management. She completed her PGY1 residency at UCHealth Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo., and earned her PharmD from the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Sophia R. Chhay, PharmD, is the assistant director of the ASHP Innovation Center. In this role, Sophia helps lead and manage efforts to implement new programs and partnerships for ASHP. She also provides support for strategic planning, executive communications, and operations for the Office of the COO and Senior Vice President. She serves as secretary to the Council on Education and Workforce Development and co-program coordinator for the ASHP Executive Fellowship in Association Leadership and Management.
