In this podcast, we will be discussing how digital health will further expand the patient-doctor relationship and its potential impact on disease prevention, management of chronic illnesses, and reducing healthcare costs. Digital health technologies offer a holistic view of the patient by providing access to data in real-time, bidirectional communication between provider and patient, and a more personalized approach to care.
SPEAKERS
Brian K. Fung is a Health Data Architect at Verily and responsible for the design of databases to support the usage of HL7 FHIR and clinical data standards for healthcare interoperability. He has been working in clinical informatics roles since 2013 and was formerly an Informatics Pharmacist at Mayo Clinic and a Graduate Student Intern at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT.
Jack Hong is an ASHP extern from VCU school of pharmacy. While he is currently working in Pediatrics Pharmacy at Medstar Georgetown Hospital, he is also an advocate for digital health and has been working on getting IT certifications. He is interested in pursuing health informatics and/or public health upon graduation this spring.
