NPF Executive Committee Message August 2021

August 2021

Hello New Practitioners,

On behalf of the New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee, I am thrilled to kick off a new year creating the future of pharmacy with you!

Returning members - welcome back! And 2021 Pharm.D. graduates - congratulations and welcome to the ASHP New Practitioners Forum (NPF)! We are happy to have you here and honored to be your professional home. The NPF serves new practitioners in their first five years of pharmacy practice. Whether you are a new pharmacy resident or fellow, beginning your first pharmacist role, making a career change, or developing your practice, the New Practitioners Forum is the place for you.

The Forum provides opportunities for collaboration and connection within the pharmacy community. Our mission is to increase engagement within ASHP by providing a community and collective voice for new practitioners as they transition into pharmacy practice. Our vision is that ASHP is the professional home for future pharmacy practice leaders. We have six advisory groups, with over 120 new practitioner volunteers that support this mission and vision by guiding the Forum through the focus-areas of career development, clinical practice, legislative affairs, leadership development, membership and outreach, and resident advancement. Congratulations to all our advisory group members and chairs on their appointments!

I cannot wait to see the incredible work we will accomplish together this year! Be sure to check out the resources on the NPF website and follow the New Practitioners Forum Twitter page for more. Feel free to reach out to us through ASHP Connect, or email to let us know more ways the Forum can best support you!

Sincerely,

Erin O. Boswell, Pharm.D., BCPS
