Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, has been reported in all 50 states. The Navigators discuss how lessons learned from COVID-19 can be applied to manage this latest outbreak and provide insight on current efforts by departments of health and pharmacies to address this newest public health need.

Chelsea Sprouse, PharmD, BCACP, (she/her) started her career at the Virginia Department of Health to focus on equitable distribution and access of COVID-19 vaccines. In the summer of 2022, she was pulled into the Mpox emergency response where she oversees clinical guidance and coordination with external partners as it relates to equitable distribution of vaccines and therapeutics. She also serves as the adult vaccine coordinator where she focuses on vaccine education and increasing adult vaccine access and uptake.
Vicki Basalyga, PharmD, MAS, BCPS, BCPPS, (she/her) is the Director of Member Relations for the Clinical Specialists and Scientists at ASHP. In addition to her Director role, Vicki assists in clinical policy development as the Secretary for the Council on Therapeutics, serves as a representative for ASHP on numerous national clinical initiatives and works with members to create essential tools and resources for leaders, practitioners and educators.
