Strategies to Maintain Well-being & Resiliency as a Preceptor

With the continued expansion and growth of healthcare, pharmacists continue to experience pressures affecting career satisfaction. Pharmacists have been tasked with taking on more responsibilities to meet the growing needs in healthcare in addition to serving as preceptors for students and residents, which can increase the risk of burnout. This podcast will provide wellbeing strategies to maintain resilience as a preceptor.

SPEAKERS

Margaret KronzMargaret (Maggie) Kronz is a PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) resident at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Maggie attended and earned her PharmD from LECOM in 2019, and her MPH from the University of Pittsburgh in 2021. Maggie has been involved in the New Practitioners Forum Career Development Advisory Group for two years.

Sandeep DevabhakthuniDr. Sandeep Devabhakthuni is an Associate Professor at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. He serves as the Director of Postgraduate Training, and oversees pharmacy residency and fellowship training. He serves as a clinical pharmacy specialist in Cardiology at University of Maryland Medical Center. He also serves as the President of Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacy and as the Vice Chair for the ASHP Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners' Educational Steering Committee.

Austin GreenAustin Green is a PGY-2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership resident at UC Davis Health in Sacramento, California. Austin received a Bachelor of Combined Science in Chemistry and Biology at Texas Christian University. He then went on to receive his PharmD at the University of Texas at Austin and MPH at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He has served on the NPF Career Development Advisory Group for the past two years.
