This podcast will provide an overview of Opioid Stewardship including rationale for program development, a description of the critical stakeholders in these programs, and the role of the pharmacist in Opioid Stewardship.

Tanya Uritsky, PharmD, CPE is the opioid stewardship coordinator at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is co-chair of the Penn Medicine Opioid Task Force, past-chair of the Society of Pain and Palliative Care Pharmacists (SPPCP) Opioid Stewardship Taskforce, and is president-elect of SPPCP. She was awarded Palliative Care Practitioner of the Year by PainWeek in 2015 and the 2020 Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists Joe E. Smith Award for excellence.
Norman Pillsbury, PharmD, BCPS received his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Florida in 2000. He has been a clinical hospital pharmacist, a hospice pharmacist, a consultant pharmacist, a director of pharmacy, and a system director of pharmacy. In addition, he was a professor of Pharmacology at South College in Asheville, North Carolina for two years, and is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. His practice interests include Critical Care, Palliative Care, Pain Management, and Pharmacy Administration. He is a member of ASHP, APhA, and the Florida Pharmacy Association. He has been with HCA since March of 2015 and is currently a Clinical Pharmacy Manager at AdventHealth Ocala.
Gretchen Lindsey, PharmD serves as a vice president, Clinical Services for CPS. She is responsible for establishing and managing clinical programs, drug utilization evaluations, and implementation of cost containment processes. She is involved with activities such as Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee meeting preparation and presentation, and provision of medication education to hospital staff. Dr. Lindsey is also the residency program director for the CPS PGY1/PGY2 Residency in Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership with Masters.
