Following pharmacy residency, many new practitioners seek to obtain board certification in a pharmacy specialty to demonstrate their expertise in a defined area of pharmacy practice. In this podcast, board certified pharmacists share practical tips for preparation and maintenance of specialty board certification.

Scott Bolesta, PharmD, BCCCP, FCCM, FCCP (he/him) is a tenured professor of pharmacy practice in the Nesbitt College of Pharmacy at Wilkes University. He has over 20 years of experience in acute care pharmacy practice in the areas of critical care and internal medicine. Bolesta is board certified in critical care and was previously certified in pharmacotherapy. His research interests include iatrogenic withdrawal and cardiovascular science.
Hayley S. Brazeale, PharmD, BCPS (she/her) is an internal medicine clinical pharmacy specialist at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. She received her PharmD from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2018. She completed her post graduate year 1 and post graduate year 2 internal medicine pharmacy residencies at Houston Methodist Hospital in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Her professional interests include clinical practice development and expansion, research, precepting and mentorship.
Colleen McCabe, PharmD, BCOP (she/her) is a board-certified oncology pharmacist practicing as the clinical pharmacist specialist in adult sarcoma and Melanoma at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She received her PharmD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Upon graduation, she completed her post graduate year 1 and post graduate year 2 oncology residencies at Emory University Hospital Midtown. After completion of her post-graduate training, McCabe began practicing in her current role in adult sarcoma and melanoma.
Calvin Ice, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP (he/him) is a graduate of Ohio Northern University. He completed a post graduate year one and post graduate year two residency in critical care at Mayo Clinic. He is currently a clinical pharmacy services supervisor and PGY1 residency program director at Corewell Health in Grand Rapids, MI. Ice is a member of the ASHP Section of Clinical Specialist and Scientists’ Clinical Leadership Advisory Group.
Stephanie Weightman, PharmD, BCPS, BCPPS (she/her) is a clinical pharmacist educator at UWorld/RxPrep in Dallas, Texas. She completed residency training at Children’s Medical Center Dallas and previously practiced as an emergency medicine clinical specialist. Her interests include pediatrics, neurology, and education. Stephanie is an active member of ASHP’s Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists. She has served as the chairs for the ASHP Pediatric Work Group/Pediatric Section Advisory Group and as Director-at-Large on the Section Executive Committee.
