This episode features a conversation with Alsean Bryant, an HIV pharmacy specialist with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Listeners will learn about his thriving pharmacy practice as well as his work with national recording artists, a professional football team, and mentees. Alsean will share how he is able to explore all of his interests and leave a lasting impact on the community.

SPEAKERS

Alsean BryantDr. Alsean Bryant is a residency-trained Strategic Response Team Pharmacist and PrEP Provider with AIDS Healthcare Foundation in the DC metropolitan area, where he provides clinical health services to communities of need. He also serves his creative talents on the Washington Commanders drumline, and is a songwriter with placements on major streaming platforms. Dr. Bryant is the incoming President of the Washington DC Pharmacy Association and a proud graduate of Florida A&M University.

Melanie SmithMelanie R. Smith, PharmD, BCACP, DPLA is a director in the ASHP Office of Member Relations. She serves as an ASHP information resource and provides guidance on pharmacy practice in ambulatory care settings. Dr. Smith received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina and her Doctor of Pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University.  She completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency at the Lexington VA Medical Center.  She also holds her Board Certification in Ambulatory Care and completed the Pharmacy Leadership Academy through the ASHP Foundation.
