This podcast will focus on the process related to submitting educational session proposals for ASHP Midyear to provide the audience with greater understanding of what is involved. Examples for prior Midyear presenters will be provided to outline processes they each followed from session idea generation through proposal submission, presentation drafting, and final presentation at Midyear.
SPEAKERS
Kathy Koehl, PharmD, BCPS, BCNSP, (she/her) is the system director of clinical pharmacy services for Riverside Health System in southeastern Virginia, with accountability for clinical pharmacy across four acute care hospitals, six lifelong health facilities, and a 700-member medical group. Kathy was named Pharmacist of the Year by the Virginia Society of Health System Pharmacists in 2020 and is the current society President. She has extensive experience presenting at the ASHP Midyear including platform presentations and management pearls.
Kristin Griebe, PharmD, BCCCP, (she/her) is a Critical Care and Emergency Medicine Pharmacist at Henry Ford Hospital. She graduated from the University of Michigan with her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY-1 Residency and PGY2 Residency in Critical Care at Henry Ford Hospital. She is adjunct faculty at Wayne State University Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Nisha Patel, PharmD, BCPS, (she/her) is an Internal Medicine Clinical Pharmacist and Team Leader. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Midwestern University Chicago and completed a PGY1 residency at Henry Ford Hospital. She has 9 years of experience precepting students and residents on rotation and projects.
Calvin Ice, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP, (he/him/his) is a graduate of Ohio Northern University and completed PGY1, then PGY2 residency training in critical care at Mayo Clinic. He is currently a clinical pharmacy services supervisor and PGY1 residency program director at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Ice is a member of the ASHP Section of Clinical Specialist and Scientists’ Clinical Leadership Advisory Group.
