In this Pharmacy Leadership Episode, Christi Jen sits down with the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists Awardee Rena Gosser to discuss what membership within the Section and ASHP means to him and how it has helped him develop as a pharmacy practice leader.
Rena Gosser, PharmD, BCPS, FASHP, FCCP is the Assistant Director of Specialty Pharmacy Services and Medication Access at the University of Washington Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy. She is responsible for the operations, clinical outcomes, quality, and financial performance of the specialty pharmacy, prior authorization, and pharmacy financial clearance teams. Rena is the recipient of the 2023 Distinguished Service Award for the ASHP Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists. She also serves as an author and Assistant Editor for the DiPiro Pharmacotherapy textbook.
Christi Jen, PharmD, BCEMP, BCPS, FASHP, FAzPA (she/her/hers) is the clinical pharmacy manager at Mayo Clinic Arizona since 2021. Prior to joining Mayo Clinic, Dr. Jen served as a clinical manager for 2 years and emergency medicine clinical pharmacist for over 11 years. Dr. Jen’s tenure in the emergency department (ED) led to the development of clinical pharmacy services e.g., the pharmacist-driven culture follow-up program and the medication history technician program in the ED. Dr. Jen currently serves as ASHP’s immediate past chair for the Section of Clinical Specialists and Scientists.
