ASHP National meetings team education director Cynthia von Heeringen joins clinical faculty experts Kristi Kelley and Morgan Stewart to discuss their upcoming session at the Pharmacy Futures meeting . More Than "Equal": Navigating the Changing Landscape of Diabetes Care to Promote Care Equity highlights the unique position pharmacists are in to promote wellness and break down barriers to care access for patients beyond the clinical guidelines for disease management.

SPEAKERS

Kristi W. Kelley Kristi W. Kelley, PharmD, BCPS, BCACP, CDCES, BC-ADM, (she/her) is a clinical professor of pharmacy practice at Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy and clinical pharmacist with Baptist Health Foundation Center for Medical and Surgical Care at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. In the clinic, Dr. Kelley precepts pharmacy students and assists with education of other health professionals. Her focus in clinical practice, teaching, and research includes diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and working with underserved patient populations.

Morgan Stewart Morgan Stewart, PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM, (she/her) is a clinical assistant professor in the division of pharmacy practice at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. Dr. Stewart received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at The Ohio State University, followed by a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency at the University of Colorado. Dr. Stewart’s practice site is at CommUnityCare Health Centers in Austin, Texas.

Cynthia von HeeringenCynthia von Heeringen is an education director on the National Meetings Education Team at ASHP and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing medical education, continuing professional development programs, and other clinical resources for pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. This includes developing educational content for ASHP’s national meetings, and other special education activities. With extensive experience in acute care clinical practice and operational supervision, she is passionate about medication safety and process optimization. She is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy.
