In this episode, three PGY1 pharmacy residents join us to discuss their specialty pharmacy-focused research projects. Topics to be discussed include the impact of pharmacist interventions on treatment outcomes in patients with hepatitis C, the impact of specialty pharmacist interventions in the treatment of multiple sclerosis, and the impact of specialty pharmacy services on medication access for asthma biologics.

Christabel Lo, PharmD, she/her is currently a postgraduate year 1 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership resident on the Informatics track at UW Medicine. Her resident research project investigates the impact of specialty pharmacy services on medication access and clinical outcomes for patients with severe asthma requiring biologics. She is also completing the Master of Health Informatics and Health Information Management program at the University of Washington. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Michigan.
Alexis El-Khouri, PharmD, she/her is completing a postgraduate year 1 residency at Trellis Rx Specialty Pharmacy in Akron, Ohio. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). She is passionate about providing the highest level of patient care for neurology and autoimmune conditions. She plans to continue her career as a clinical neurology pharmacist with Trellis Rx.
Samantha Manson, PharmD, MBA, CTTS, she/her is a postgraduate year-1 Community-Based Specialty Pharmacy resident at Allied Health Solutions, a health-system specialty pharmacy affiliated with WVU Medicine, in Morgantown, WV. Samantha earned her PharmD and MBA from West Virginia University in 2022. She has been active in several local, state, and national organizations during her residency year, including ASHP where she served as a Community-Based Resident Network planning member and completed the inaugural cohort of the Well-Being Ambassador program.
Autumn Zuckerman, PharmD, BCPS, AAHIVP, CSP, she/her is the director of health outcomes and research at Vanderbilt Specialty Pharmacy, and an affiliate professor at University of Tennessee College of Health Sciences, Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy, and Belmont University College of Pharmacy. Dr. Zuckerman received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy, then completed two years of residency training at the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System VA, specializing in ambulatory care.
