This podcast, created for students, by students, serves as a starting point for discussion about student well-being and resilience. A panel of students representing various backgrounds, geographic locations, and times in their pharmacy career journey, discuss mental health, work/life/family balance, self-care, and support systems to improve overall well-being.
SPEAKERS
Amanda Le (she/her) is a P3 pharmacy student at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, studying through the distance education pathway. As a pharmacy intern at Kaiser Permanente in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, she is passionate about leadership and advancing the scope of pharmacy practice. Dedicated to mentoring fellow students, Le guides them through the challenges of distance education, paving the way for future healthcare professionals and fostering resilience.
Caitlin Loo (she/her), PharmD Candidate 2025, is a student at the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy. She is currently president of the Wyoming Student Society of Health-systems Pharmacists and participated in her school’s Health Equity Leadership Program. Her passion for leadership and helping others pushes her to grow at every opportunity. She hopes to continue growing as a pharmacist, leader, and friend.
Deema Nasla (she/her) is currently a P2 student at Western University of Health Sciences and completed a bachelor’s degree in pure chemistry from UC Riverside. She is a student pharmacist liaison for the Symba Center in Victorville, California and currently serves as a student pharmacist peer tutor at WesternU.
Kerstan Glista (she/her) is a PharmD candidate, class of 2027, at Northeast Ohio Medical University. She obtained a bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Science from Liberty University. She is currently an intern at a community pharmacy in her hometown and is involved in many organizations on campus. In her free time, she loves being with family, friends, and her two cats Allegra and Claritin (Allie and Claire).
Jason C Wong (he/him) is an assistant professor at California’s Western University of Health Sciences and received the APPE Preceptor of the Year recognition in 2014. He practiced pharmacy for over thirty years, mainly as a community practitioner, and ten years in hospital health systems. He received his PharmD from the University of Florida and completed a postgraduate year 1 residency at White Memorial Adventist Health. He has been an immunization trainer since 2019 and was the first U.S. pharmacist to train doctors of optometry for immunization.
LCDR Kali Autrey (she/her) is an applied public health pharmacist with CDC's Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity. She directs the development and implementation of financial sustainability mechanisms for Family Healthy Weight Programs aimed to improve access to pediatric obesity prevention and treatment. She began her career serving the Dine population at Indian Health Service Facilities on the Navajo Reservation. LCDR Autrey has provided care in multiple pharmacist-run clinics as a pharmacist clinician with medical staff privileges.
