Reasons for selecting pharmacy:
I was first attracted by the scientific aspect of the pharmacy curriculum. However, as I learned more about pharmacy, I realized the diverse opportunities in the field and the impact a pharmacist can make not only on a patient’s healthcare plan but also on drug policy, regulation, and clinical guidelines. Now, as a passionate PharmD student, I don’t want to just accept the status quo in this profession. I am committed to driving change and bringing new perspectives to the pharmacy world. I want to inspire people to pursue a career in pharmacy and show them that the previously "unimaginable" in this field is now within reach.
Professional Interests:
- Emergency medicine
- Medication Safety
- Psychiatric pharmacy
Interest in the PSF Executive Committee:
My local SSHP chapter has provided me with a platform to use my voice to make a real difference in the lives of others, and I want to take it to the next level and connect with the ASHP. The ASHP PSF offers a wealth of resources that will enable me to represent workforce needs and abilities on a national level. As a former Advisory Group Vice-Chair, I gained close experiences with each member and understood their goals in the ASHP. Now, I want to present them with the resources and make ASHP more accessible
How being a member of ASHP has assisted in my personal and professional development:
Being a part of the Committee member means an opportunity to be a driving force in shaping the future of Pharmacy. From school to ASHP, this is where science meets empathy, and where all the passionate individuals united by a common goal—advancing pharmacy profession. With this role, I will have the chance to contribute to student experience and advocate for students’ needs on a national platform. For me, it's about being students’ voice that echoes the concerns, ambitions, and innovative ideas of the student community.
Goals for the year as a PSFEC Member:
- Promote collaboration between the Advisory Groups and Executive Committee members.
- Facilitate access to resources for Advisory Group members to support their project.
- Advocate for student needs on national level and optimize their experience with ASHP.
Fun Fact:
My passion is to travel around the world. I have traveled to 8 countries, and the list is growing.
