Happy New Year Everyone!
I hope everyone had a nice holiday season filled with good cheer. Ending the year with our Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition in December was exceptionally exciting with the Integrated Informatics Institute (i3) that started on Sunday afternoon, fantastic keynote speakers, and the Afternoon of Innovation. And, learning how the landscape will evolve as technology from external sources impacts our lives.
Congratulations to Barbara Giacomelli, Pharm.D., M.B.A., FASHP, the 2019 Distinguished Service Award recipient for SOPIT. We are grateful for your many years of dedication and service to our Section and ASHP.
A special thanks to our SOPIT Section Advisory Group leaders Calvin “Clay” Daniels, Dennison Lim, Hesham Mourad, and Marc Willner, for their facilitation of our SOPIT Roundtable Networking Sessions. Also, I want to acknowledge the SOPIT Professional Development’s “Get IT Done” group for planning an outstanding Social Event for SOPIT. Everyone had a great time!

Don’t forget to process your CE credits from MCM19. “ACPE requires that all pharmacy continuing education (CE) credits must be processed and claimed no later than 60 days from the date of the live activity…If you are unsure if you have processed CE, check your profile at NABP-CPE Monitor at https://nabp.pharmacy/ to view your transcript.”
SOPIT Section Advisory Group (SAG) re/appointments 2020-2021
The call to participate on a Section of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Advisory Group (SAG) will open in February and close April 1, 2020. Appointments are made and approved by the Executive committee and notice of appointment will be sent in late summer.
ASHP Summer Meetings 2020
Save the dates for the ASHP Summer Meetings & Exhibition from June 6-10, 2020 in Seattle, Washington, once again with the Integrated Informatics Institute (i3) and track for Influencers and Innovators. “The meeting also kicks off ASHP’s calendar year with the inauguration of new officers and board members, hosts the proceedings of the House of Delegates, and includes poster presentations and an exhibit program featuring the latest products, services and technologies in the industry” I am looking forward to seeing you all there!

The National Pharmacy Preceptors Conference will be held in Chicago, Illinois from October 21-23, 2020. ASHP will be accepting proposals for educational sessions from November 15, 2020 through January 15, 2020, 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
The next ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting will be in New Orleans with an Integrated Informatics Institute (i3). MCM Proposals are open now and close on February 1, 2020.
