Reasons for selecting this career path:
I decided to pursue a career where I am able to find joy doing things I love on a daily basis – science, caring for my patients, being part of their healthcare journey, and serving as a voice for my profession. Pharmacy encompasses all of these factors, and I am grateful to expand my training with a HSPAL residency program where I am able to develop myself clinically and learn how to collectively work with other healthcare professionals to practice evidence-based medicine and provide the best patient-centered care.

Interest in serving on the NPF Executive Committee:
I have been involved with the ASHP-SSHP student chapter since my first year of pharmacy school and have transitioned into a New Practitioner. One of my greatest passions is consistently participating in ASHP professional endeavors and contributing back to society. These past two years, I have served as a Member then Chair of the ASHP NPF Practice Advancement and Advocacy Advisory Group (PAAAG). It has been invigorating to work with such an amazing team to provide toolkits for growth and advocating for our pharmacy practice, and it is something I would like to continue with the Executive Committee where I am able to participate and contribute in more of the learning opportunities.
Benefits of being involved in ASHP as a New Practitioner:
There are so many benefits to staying involved in ASHP as a New Practitioner! From creating long-lasting friendships with others, gaining new knowledge with available resources, developing skills outside of your own niche area and institution, and practicing at the forefront of pharmacy – being a member really enriches the profession!
