Reasons for selecting this career path:
While working as a consultant for a healthcare IT company, I encountered pharmacists who were conscientious leaders and strong patient advocates in their health systems. They were passionate about two of the things I am most passionate about: science and people. At that realization, I decided I wanted to be a pharmacist and haven’t looked back!
Professional Interests:
- Hospital Pharmacy Operations
- Management and Leadership Development
- Clinical Services Management
- Medication Safety and Quality
Interest in the NPF Executive Committee:
I previously served on the ASHP Pharmacy Student Forum as a member and work group lead. Through my volunteer involvement with ASHP, I have met pharmacists from across the country who are eager to put ideas into action to better serve people through our profession. I am thrilled to continue to my involvement as the New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee Chair.
Benefits of being involved in ASHP as a New Practitioner:
I have seen firsthand how ASHP is committed to developing pharmacy leaders who are passionate about finding answers to the challenges faced by our patients, profession, and healthcare as a whole. ASHP’s New Practitioners Forum provides many opportunities to learn from peers across the county, to empower and mentor other practitioners, and to influence the direction of the pharmacy profession.
Fun Fact:
I am a major Kansas Jayhawks basketball fan! I camped for tickets and attended every home game my senior year of college.
