Tara Kelley
2024 Distinguished Service Award Winner
Kelley holds a BS degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a PharmD from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She completed an ASHP-accredited residency program at the University of Tennessee Medical Center and is a Certified Specialty Pharmacist. She completed the Master of Management in Health Care program at the Owen School of Business at Vanderbilt University in 2018.
Kelley has over 16 years of experience in hospital, retail, specialty, and drug distribution settings, with over nine years of experience in specialty pharmacy clinical and call center operations, patient access, accreditation, compliance, outcomes research, market access, trade relations, contracting, management and strategy. She currently serves as executive director of specialty pharmacy services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and oversees clinical and centralized operations, quality and performance improvement, accreditation, trade relations and market access, health outcomes research, contractual reporting and the postgraduate year 1 specialty pharmacy community pharmacy residency program. She served on the ASHP Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners Executive Committee for five years and continues to actively advocate for the profession.
