Huda-Marie Kandah
Her Story
Dr. Huda-Marie Kandah completed her Doctorate of Pharmacy at Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy in 2012. She completed her post-graduate residency training at Rush University Medical Center in 2013.
Huda currently serves as the Pharmacy Manager of Accreditation, Quality and Residency at the University of Chicago Medicine. She also serves as the Residency Program Director of the PGY-2 Specialty Pharmacy Administration and Leadership program.

The University of Chicago Medicine is a not-for-profit academic health system based on the campus of the University of Chicago in Hyde Park with hospitals, outpatient clinics and physician practices throughout Chicago and the suburbs.
Recent Significant Projects
Huda maintains ambulatory pharmacy programs in accordance with accreditation standards, federal and state laws and regulations, internal and external reporting provisions, and payer and/or manufacturer requirements. In the last two years, she has lead the initial and/or reaccreditations of multiple pharmacy programs, including Specialty Pharmacy, Mail Order, Digital Pharmacy, and Home Infusion.
Involvement in ASHP
Huda is an active member of the ASHP Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Section Advisory Group on Accreditation and Compliance. In 2020-2021, she served as the Chair of the Educational Steering Committee. She has also served as a member on the Section Advisory Group on Workforce Development.

Get involved. Join committees. Lead initiatives. There’s always more to learn. There’s always room to grow.
How would you explain the value of ASHP to a friend or colleague?
ASHP provides an extensive network of colleagues and experts within your practice area. Through involvement in Sections, such as the Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners, I have collaborated on several projects, including the publication of toolkits, articles, and podcasts! With the support of ASHP, these achievements have added value to my professional career.
What is the value of ASHP for the profession?
As mentioned above, ASHP provides you the opportunity to participate or lead various initiatives with the goal to disseminate information, advance knowledge, and impact the practice of pharmacy.
