Anna M. Dreger is a Clinical Application Pharmacist Specialist at M Health Fairview in the Twin Cities, Minnesota where she works to improve safety and usability of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and use of smart infusion pumps. She worked on teams to implement a new EMR, new Automated Dispensing Cabinets, and several infusion pump implementations.
In her previous role as Operations Manager at HealthEast St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, Minnesota Ms. Dreger guided the site implementation of a robot and inventory carousel, led the site pharmacy team in implementing medication barcode scanning, and designed the plan for IV room remodel for USP 797 compliance. Prior to these roles, her work experience included opportunities in Denver, Colorado and Düsseldorf, Germany. She completed her B.S.Pharm. at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a PGY1 residency at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Mary’s Campus, Rochester, Minnesota.
Ms. Dreger has served as a manuscript reviewer for the ASHP Best Practices Award and as member, Vice Chair and Chair of the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology’s Advisory Group on Professional Development. Her teams have developed articles, recommended web site updates, and presented webinars designed to provide learning opportunities in Informatics topics for students as well as new and experienced pharmacy practitioners. She finds the opportunity to share experience and learn from others in each project team to be an ongoing professional inspiration.
