Dana G. Carroll
Dana’s Story
Dana G. Carroll graduated with a B.S. (1998) and Pharm.D. (1999) from Auburn University School of Pharmacy, Auburn, AL. She completed a primary care residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS in 2000. She is board certified in pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and geriatrics (BCGP). She also is a certified diabetes educator (CDE).
Dr. Carroll has served as the vice chair and chair of the Education & Preceptor SAG the previous 2 years. She has peer reviewed submissions for both the MCM and NPPC meeting for several years. She also serves as course faculty for the Geriatrics Re certification Course.
Facility
Dr. Carroll's current clinical practice at University Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL focuses on providing direct patient care as part of interdisciplinary teams in a geriatric clinic and a transition of care clinic (which primarily serves geriatric patients). In addition, Dr. Carroll provides one on one patient education and drug therapy consults in diabetes and serves as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver ADA certified diabetes self-management classes.
Significant Projects
Dr. Carroll’s current scholarly endeavors include assessing outcomes in geriatric patients from interdisciplinary care and assessing interprofessional education related to geriatric patient care and patient care teams in the ambulatory clinic setting.
