Jeffery L. Olson is a Pharmacy Operations Director at Intermountain Healthcare with over 16 years of ambulatory care experience. In his current role, Dr. Olson leads system ambulatory care pharmacy operations, strategy, and growth efforts for the healthcare system. During his time at Intermountain, ambulatory care pharmacy services have expanded 10-fold across primary care and specialty clinics. He is also the PGY2 ambulatory care residency program director and holds an adjunct faculty appointment at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy. Dr. Olson earned his Pharm.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Utah and completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington. He is board certified in both ambulatory care and pharmacotherapy.
In addition to his work at Intermountain, Dr. Olson currently serves as a member of the Section of Ambulatory Care Practitioners (SACP) Section Advisory Group (SAG) on Clinical Practice Advancement. He recently served as the chair and vice chair of the SACP SAG on Compensation and Practice Sustainability. Dr. Olson is also an active contributor to local and national ASHP meetings. He is a frequent speaker on clinical and practice management topics at the Utah Society of Health System Pharmacists (USHP) meeting, ASHP Midyear, and ASHP Summer Meetings. Furthermore, Dr. Olson is an author of several ASHP Ambulatory Care Resource Center documents, ASHP Connect blog posts, and an AJHP publication. He was an invited guest on a recent ASHP podcast highlighting his efforts and expertise surrounding telehealth.
