Describe the facility where you work (eg. Is it a teaching hospital? Health Center?

Henry Ford Health (HFH) is an integrated, not-for-profit health care organization in metro Detroit. The system provides acute, specialty, primary and preventative care services for a diverse patient population. The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine provides advanced services for patients with a variety of pulmonary diseases including, but not limited to, interstitial lung disease (ILD), pulmonary hypertension, and transplant. The ILD program at HFH is recognized as a Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Care Center and utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to the care of patients.

Recent Significant Projects

Dr. Martirosov recently designed and implemented a pharmacist-driven medication management program for patients with ILD. The program provides comprehensive therapy management, medication access/adherence assistance, and patient education for patients on complex ILD therapies. She has also worked to reduce the high-costs that pulmonary patients often pay for their therapies and improved access to care.

Initial Involvement in ASHP

I have been actively involved in the Section of Ambulatory Care Pharmacy (SACP) for 10 years. Within the SACP, I have served on several Section Advisory Groups (SAGs) as both a member and Chair.  I am currently a member of the SAG on Clinical Practice Advancement. I am also the advisor for the Wayne State University Society of Health-System Pharmacy.

Why did you become involved in ASHP?

I have been involved with ASHP since I was a pharmacy student. I joined because I was looking for a place to find mentors and collaborators and to find ways to give back to the profession.

Advice for Someone New to Specialty Area

Embrace your failures -- they will become your stepping stones to success. Create your personal board of directors to help you succeed in your career aspirations. And always be willing to seek opportunities for change in your practice.

How would you explain the value of ASHP to a friend or colleague?

Being a part of ASHP provides me with opportunities to help shape ambulatory care throughout the nation. It also provides opportunities to learn from other health systems and ambulatory care practitioners about what they do well so that I can shape my own practice. When I describe ASHP, I say that it's 'where my people are' because I've found a place to surround myself with professional colleagues who uplift and inspire.

What is the value of ASHP for the profession?

ASHP really advocates on behalf of our profession. They provide resources and set standards to help us all elevate our practice. It also provides us with common goals that are a representation of the membership. ASHP also helps facilitate important conversations around relevant topics such as wellness and DEI.
