Professional Interests:
I am interested the most in internal medicine, but also interested in infectious disease and emergency medicine. One area of pharmacy I am most passionate about is serving my patients, when I recommend interventions that help my patients, that is what I am passionate about. When making these important interventions the feeling I get is so rewarding it serves as a reminder for why I do what I do!

Why did you become involved in ASHP?
I was inspired to get involved with pharmacy organizations during pharmacy school, and felt that getting involved on the National level was my next step for helping to advance the profession.

What would you tell others if asked how to get involved with ASHP?
Become a member of ASHP if you're not already, there are several amazing resources that are available to you by becoming a member. Once you become a member, head over to ASHP and look out for the application windows to get involved!

What unique characteristic/perspective do you bring to your everyday work or the pharmacy profession?
I was a pharmacy technician for several years in the hospital setting prior to becoming a pharmacist which gives me a unique perspective into operations that other pharmacists might not have.

What do you like to do for fun? What are some of your interests/hobbies outside of pharmacy?
I love going to rock music concerts and experiencing live music of my favorite bands. A fun fact about me is that I like to spend time in nature with my husband and three huskies. We enjoy overlanding in our truck where we can go almost anywhere, camp, and bring our three huskies.

What advice would you give to other new practitioners?
I would recommend new practitioners use their paid time off! There is always more that needs to be done in the pharmacy with patient care and learning, but it will be there when you come back!
