Professional Interests
Professionally, I am interested in the field of oncology and will be starting my post-graduate training in this area later this year. Otherwise, I am passionate about ensuring that mental health and well-being in the pharmacy profession is given the attention it deserves and that pharmacists are provided with the tools to address it. Pharmacy has extremely high burnout rates and can be a very stressful field. I want to ensure there are always resources readily available for pharmacists to help manage these challenges as they arise.
Why did you become involved in ASHP?
I initially became involved in ASHP as a student for networking purposes and continued my involvement after pharmacy school as an opportunity to advocate for the profession, specifically with my passion for mental health and well-being advocacy.
What would you tell others if asked how to get involved with ASHP?
If you are interested in getting involved in ASHP, attend events, volunteer for committees, and connect with other ASHP members in your area!
What unique characteristics do you bring to your everyday work or the pharmacy profession?
I bring a healthy amount of curiosity into my current position. This curiosity and my diverse background in pharmacy help ensure that we are always striving for better solutions and delivering the highest quality care.
What are some of your interests or hobbies outside of pharmacy?
During my time off I like to read, try new restaurants, take yoga classes, travel, go to concerts, and spend time with friends and family!
What advice would you give to other new practitioners?
My advice to other new practitioners is to build a support network. Connect with peers, mentors, and professional organizations. Stepping into a new role can come with its challenges, but having a group of people who support you will allow you to navigate obstacles more effectively, grow professionally, and feel more confident in your role.
