When did you first join ASHP?
During my internship last summer, I discovered the significant benefits of joining ASHP. I became a member not only to access the wealth of resources they offer but also to be part of a community dedicated to advancing our profession and enhancing patient care.
What is your current involvement with the ASHP Pharmacy Student Forum (i.e. advisory group or executive committee appointment)?
I am a member of the Career and Leadership Development advisory group!
What is your favorite part of your ASHP student membership? What has been most beneficial about being a student member of ASHP?
My favorite part of being an ASHP student member is the professional connection it provides. The opportunities to network with experienced professionals and students who share a passion for pharmacy have been incredibly valuable. The most beneficial aspect of my membership has been access to a wealth of educational resources, such as webinars, publications, and career development tools, which have significantly enhanced my understanding of the field and prepared me for a future in health system pharmacy.
What advice do you have for pharmacy students seeking to become involved in national organizations?
My advice is to not hesitate to reach out to members or attend events to discover what different organizations have to offer. Once you're involved, make the most of your membership by participating in events, joining committees, and connecting with other members. These experiences will help you build a strong network that can support your growth throughout your career.
