Why did you become involved in ASHP?
I became involved with ASHP as I wanted to impact patient care on a higher level. Working with the team on a more national level allows me to have more impact on patient care across the country and at my home site.
What would you tell others if asked how to get involved with ASHP?
Look to get involved at the local level, the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacy for me was a great way to learn more about ASHP and the different involvement activities that were available.
What unique characteristics and perspectives do you bring to your everyday work or the pharmacy profession?
I try to bring the glass half full perspective. My goal is to view every challenge as an opportunity on how to move forward to provide care for our patients in more unique ways.
What do you like to do for fun? What are some of your interests/hobbies outside of pharmacy?
I enjoy soccer, golf, and visiting different breweries around Columbus. A fun fact about me is that I have had the pleasure of traveling to over 20 countries and look to grow that number after residency.
What advice would you give to other new practitioners?
Make sure to slowdown and evaluate the projects you complete and the challenges that you overcome to see how you have grown since graduation.
