Reason for the Shortage

- American Regent is not currently marketing etomidate.
- Athenex is no longer marketing etomidate injection.
- AuroMedics had etomidate injection on shortage due to increased demand.
- Fosun Pharma has etomidate injection available.
- Hikma has etomidate injection on shortage due to increased demand.
- Mylan Institutional has etomidate available.
- Par Sterile Products discontinued etomidate in early 2015.
- Pfizer discontinued etomidate ampules in October 2016. The LifeShield syringes were discontinued in August 2020.
- Sagent is no longer marketing etomidate.
- Zydus discontinued etomidate .
