ASHP Pharmacy Futures: Transforming Pharmacy Practice
Dear Colleagues,
We are excited — registration is officially open for ASHP Pharmacy Futures 2025, a pharmacy event like no other as we shape the future of pharmacy practice and help our members lead meaningful improvements in patient care.
At this year’s event in Charlotte, North Carolina, on June 7–11, we will explore the cutting edge of clinical pharmacy practice from various perspectives and advance new ways to collaborate, innovate, and drive the transformation of pharmacy care.
One of the highlights of Pharmacy Futures 2025 will be the Summit on Advanced Therapeutics, where we’ll tackle the rapidly evolving world of advanced therapies, including gene and cell therapies, personalized medicine, specialty medications, and rare disease treatments. With these therapies transforming patient care, it’s critical that pharmacy professionals lead the way in helping to navigate their implementation.
The summit will explore medication use policy, patient access, and the financial implications of implementing advanced therapeutics. It will also address a range of other critical topics, such as ethical considerations, patient selection criteria, and operational frameworks.
The event will culminate with an engaging town hall, where attendees share their strategies and perspectives on the pivotal role of the profession in shaping the future of advanced therapeutics in healthcare.
Pharmacy Futures 2025 will also offer Sterile Compounding Designated Person Competency Training with hands-on instruction and immersive programming for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
Attendees can participate in over 40 curated educational sessions on key focal areas, including medication safety, specialty pharmacy, ambulatory care, informatics and artificial intelligence, and advocacy. The event also includes our annual in-person meeting of the House of Delegates, the presentation of the Harvey A.K. Whitney Lecture Award, the inauguration of new officers and board members, poster presentations, and more.
For the first time, we’re thrilled to combine the National Pharmacy Preceptors Conference with Pharmacy Futures, creating an important opportunity for preceptors, residency directors, educators, and pharmacy leaders to gather in person to connect, collaborate, and network.
The conference offers nearly 10 hours of preceptor-specific education, including best practices in recruiting, teaching, mentoring, and assessing pharmacy residents and students, and a dedicated networking and preceptor poster session. Participants will also engage and network in the ongoing residency accreditation process for their institutional and specialized programs — vital for maintaining site and precepting standards.
Registration is open. We invite you to learn more about the agenda and start planning your participation in this transformative event.
Thank you for all you do for your patients and our profession.
Sincerely,
Paul
