The World Health Organization, in its 11th revision to the International Classification of Diseases, classifies burnout as an occupational syndrome associated with risks in the work environment. Recognizing this, and the literature demonstrating the need for a systems approach to preventing burnout in the healthcare workforce, proactive steps can be taken to redesign work systems that support and prioritize well-being. Rena Sackett, Pharm.D., BCPS is one of the current Executive Fellows in Association Leadership and Management at ASHP. She completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and earned her Pharm.D. from Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy in 2019. She previously obtained her B.A. in Spanish with a minor in Chemistry from Walla Walla University. She completed an elective rotation in national association management with ASHP and has served in a number of volunteer leadership capacities including as a delegate for the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists and volunteer on the Membership Committee for the Western Chapter of Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Dr. Molly Wascher received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy. Following graduation she completed the two-year Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency program at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. During the residency program she earned her MBA in Health Care Management from the Johns Hopkins University Carey School of Business. Dr. Wascher currently works at the Johns Hopkins Home Care Group serving as a Clinical Programs Manager for Specialty Pharmacy Services. Molly currently serves as the President-Elect of the Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Chair of the Vizient Pharmacy Network Ambulatory Pharmacy Development Committee, and Vice Chair of the ASHP Strategy and Industry Disrupters Section Advisory Group within the Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders.
Tara Feller is an inpatient clinical pharmacy manager at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. Tara graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and completed a PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to her current position, Tara was an Operations Manager at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Tara’s professional interests include transitions of care, pharmacy practice advancement, and pharmacy workforce well-being/resiliency.
