Susan Cornell, Pharm.D, CDCES, FAPhA, FADCES, is Associate Director of Experiential Education and Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy in Downers Grove, Illinois. A certified diabetes care and education specialist, she practices at Bolingbrook Christian Health and Will-Grundy Medical Clinics, where she trains and supervises students from the colleges of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and health sciences who provide diabetes education, as well as individual diabetes care and medication therapy management, for patients in numerous underserved community clinics. Dr. Cornell served as President of the Illinois Pharmacists Association in 2011, and she is an active member of the American Diabetes Association and American Association of Diabetes Educators. She has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the 2019 and 2011 Outstanding Faculty Advisor, 2017 Outstanding Illinois Diabetes Educator of the Year, and 2014 Bowl of Hygeia.
Curtis L. Triplitt, Pharm.D., CDCES, is Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Diabetes and Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He practices at the Texas Diabetes Institute, where he manages patients with an endocrinologist and is involved with diabetes and metabolism research. Dr. Triplitt received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and the University of Texas at Austin before completing an ASHP-accredited primary-care residency at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Triplitt is Editor-in-Chief of Diabetes Spectrum and past Vice-Chair of the Texas Diabetes Council, Texas Department of State Health Services. He has served as an investigator on multiple clinical trials focusing on type 2 diabetes, including the effects of medications on insulin sensitivity, glycemic control, and hypertension, and has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and 10 book chapters on diabetes.
