This podcast will aim to review various indications of ketamine use within the pediatric population. Relevant dosing, adverse effects, and contraindications will be discussed. Listeners will become familiar with appropriate monitoring parameters to safely use ketamine for pediatrics.

Morgan Taylor, PharmD, BCPPS received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in 2015. She completed her PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL and PGY-2 in pediatrics at the University of Chicago Medicine, Comer Children’s Hospital. Shortly after completing residency she joined SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital as a clinical specialist in the Emergency Department for three years before moving to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit where she currently practices.
Sarah Schuchard, PharmD, BCPPS received her PharmD from SIUE School of Pharmacy in 2015. She went on to complete a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital followed by a PGY2 Pediatrics residency at Children’s Minnesota. She then returned home to St Louis to work as a clinical specialist in pediatric hematology and oncology at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.
Bhavik Shah, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP earned his doctorate of pharmacy from Rutgers University, and completed post-graduate training in pharmacy practice and infectious diseases at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He is an associate professor at the Jefferson College of Pharmacy and co-director of the Pharmacology thread in the JeffMD curriculum at SIdney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. He is an active member of ASHP and ACCP. Within ASHP, he has served as vice-chair and is currently the chair of the Year-Round Educational Steering Committee for 2020-2021.
