April Bitner, PharmD grew up and started her pharmacy career in Indianapolis, IN, as a pharmacy technician. She has since proudly made Chicago home and oversees Inpatient Operations at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Before moving into the hospital space, April spent fifteen years in retail pharmacy until she discovered a love for inpatient pharmacy and healthcare systems where she hopes to grow in the years to come.
Christopher Fortier, PharmD, FASHP, CPEL received his PharmD from the University of Connecticut. He completed a PGY1 practice residency and a PGY2 health-system pharmacy administration residency at the Medical University of South Carolina Medical Center. Dr. Fortier is an adjunct associate professor at the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy, the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy, Northeastern University School of Pharmacy, and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. Fortier was previously the chief pharmacy officer at Massachusetts General Hospital, overseeing a staff of 400.
David Aguero, PharmD, MSTL, ACHIP is the director of medication systems and informatics as well as the program director for the PGY2 pharmacy informatics residency at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. At St. Jude, he is responsible for leadership of medication-use systems and supporting technologies, including pharmacy informatics, pharmacy analytics, and pharmacy supply chain service lines.
