Tess Bernstein is a PY4 PharmD candidate at MCPHS University in Boston MA. Tess would like to pursue a career in the ambulatory care pharmacy. Her previous work experience includes being a pharmacy intern at Tampa Independent Pharmacy and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Additionally she has taken on many leadership roles within organizations both locally and nationally. These involvements include being the Residency Preparation Advisory Group chair for ASHP and serving as a Regional Liaison for Phi Lambda Sigma. Her current and past positions have given her the opportunity to work with like-minded peers and to have an impact on the growth and advancement of the pharmacy profession
Sara Leidy is a fourth year professional student at Purdue University College of Pharmacy. Sara is currently enjoying the diversity and challenges associated with her advanced pharmacy practice experiences. She plans to pursue a residency and has interests in the fields of Hematology/Oncology, Transplant, and Critical Care.
Dr. Cathi Dennehy completed her Pharm.D. degree, PGY1 Residency and PGY2 Residency in Hospital Administration at UCSF School of Pharmacy. She is a clinical professor at UCSF and was the former PGY1 Residency Director for 16 years. Her primary job responsibilities currently involve administration and teaching, co-chairing the Interprofessional classroom curriculum, coordinating the Gastrointestinal curricular theme and direct patient care in the Anticoagulation and Transitions of Care clinics. Her primary area of research and clinical expertise is herbal medicine and dietary supplements. She has published 33 peer reviewed articles and 19 book chapters. She is active in her professional service to CSHP, ASHP and ACCP and is a CSHP fellow.
Jose Andres Rey, MS, Pharm.D., BCPP, is a professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He is the clinical psychopharmacologist at South Florida State Hospital – Wellpath in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Dr. Rey earned his BS in biology and MS in psychology from Nova Southeastern University and his PharmD from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. He is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists, and a past appointee to the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties, Specialty Council on Psychiatric Pharmacy. Dr. Rey is the author or coauthor of numerous abstracts, articles, and reviews in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, and has been an invited speaker at state, national, and international meetings. Dr. Rey’s research interests include cosmetic neuropsychopharmacology, geropsychiatry, psychotropic polypharmacy, pain management with antidepressants and anticonvulsants, and clinical and pharmacoeconomic outcomes research with antipsychotics and antidepressants. He has presented his research at national and international meetings as well. Dr. Rey is the Residency Program Director of the NSU - College of Pharmacy PGY-2 Residency in Psychiatric Pharmacy Practice.
Benjamin Gross is the Director of Residency Programs and Director of Assessment for Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy. He currently is a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency Director and has served in that role for 11 years. He also has served as a PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency Director. Gross received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Murray State University and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Tennessee. Gross completed a specialty residency in primary care with the University of Tennessee and Holston Medical Group. Before joining the faculty at Lipscomb University, Gross spent five years as an assistant professor for the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and resident director for the primary care residency at Holston Medical Group. Gross also served as clinical pharmacy director for the practice which included coordinating clinical pharmacy involvement in a Level 3 patient-centered medical home model. Gross recently completed his Master of Business Administration from Lipscomb University. Gross has continued to advance his expertise by earning a number of certifications including Certified Diabetes Educator, Board Certified Advanced Diabetes Manager, Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, Board Certified Ambulatory Care Specialist, and Certified Hypertension Clinician. Gross also received certifications in diabetes including insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring. He currently practices under a collaborative practice agreement in a large private practice physician group.
