Health system mergers and acquisitions provide unique opportunities for pharmacy leadership as well as unique challenges. This podcast is going to address how different pharmacy leaders have approached governance and assigning responsibilities during these transitions.
SPEAKERS
Jillian Foster, PharmD, MBA, FACHE, FASHP is the system pharmacy service line administrator for Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation (BMHCC). She provides strategic direction to the BMHCC pharmacy teams at all Baptist hospitals, infusion centers, retail pharmacies, home infusion, mail order and specialty pharmacy in MS, TN, and AR. She is past president of the Mississippi Pharmacists Association and the Mississippi Society of Health System Pharmacy. Jillian is currently serving on the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy.
Tamara Bezdicek, PharmD, BCPS, FMSHP is the medication policy manager for Fairview Pharmacy Services where she oversees the formulary and medication use projects for the health-system. Tamara received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed a PGY1 residency at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Tamara is currently serving as the co-chair of the Minnesota Pharmacy Alliance (MPA) representing the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP) advocacy efforts. She is a Past-President of MSHP.
Taben Main, PharmD, MS is a director of pharmacy for Capital Medical Center, which is part of MultiCare, a ten-hospital non-profit integrated healthcare system in the Pacific Northwest. Taben coordinates day-to-day pharmacy operations, collaborating on system initiatives, and is passionate about advancing pharmacy services. Taben received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Utah and completed a PGY-1/PGY-2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency and Master’s Degree at the University of Kansas Health System.
Derek Grimm, PharmD, BCPS is the enterprise director of Medication Management at WVU Medicine. He graduated from the Doctor of Pharmacy program at West Virginia University School of Pharmacy and completed the pharmacy practice residency program at the Huntington Veterans Affairs Medical Center. After several years of clinical pharmacy practice, Derek has enjoyed various management roles within clinical pharmacy management and operations management prior to his current role at WVU.
