In this Pharmacy Leadership Episode, SICP Chair, Sarah Stephens, sits down with the Section of Inpatient Care Practitioner’s Awardee Daniel Degnan to discuss what membership within the section and ASHP means to him and how it has helped him develop as a pharmacy practice leader.

Dan Degnan, PharmD, MS, CPPS, FASHP is the Associate Director of the Professional Skills laboratory at the Purdue University College of Pharmacy. At Purdue, he teaches professional pharmacy students in the areas of patient safety and informatics, health policy, and leadership. He is an associate faculty member at the Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering at Purdue where he contributes his expertise to researchers in the areas of medication safety technology, patient safety culture, pharmacy operations, and high reliability healthcare.
Sarah Stephens, PharmD, CPPS is the Network Medication Safety Officer for HonorHealth in Scottsdale, AZ. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Wyoming and completed two years of residency training at University of Utah Health specializing in Drug Information. Previous practice includes drug information, acute care adult internal medicine, and academia. Dr. Stephens has held multiple leadership positions within the Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners, currently serving as Chair.
