This podcast features current PGY1 & PGY2 health-system pharmacy administration and leadership (HSPAL) residents from the ASHP Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residents’ Collaborative interviewing experienced pharmacy leaders about potential pitfalls and opportunities to succeed in your first 90 days as a manager.
Tamara Bezdicek, PharmD, BCPS, FMSHP (she/her) is the medication policy manager for Fairview Pharmacy Services where she oversees the formulary and medication use projects for the health system. Tamara received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed a PGY1 residency at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Tamara is currently serving as the co-chair of the Minnesota Pharmacy Alliance (MPA) representing the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP) advocacy efforts. She is a Past-President of MSHP.
Tyler Tomasek, PharmD, MS, BCPS (he/him/his) currently serves as the senior director of pharmacy informatics and technology at the Cleveland Clinic. The Cleveland Clinic healthcare system operates 23 hospitals and 276 outpatient facilities in locations around the globe. He completed a PGY1 residency program at Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital and has held various leadership positions at the Cleveland Clinic over an 8 year period. He has a passion for continuous improvement, designing highly-reliable/sustainable processes, and team engagement/empowerment.
Brianne Bakken, PharmD, MHA (she/her) is an associate professor of health systems administration at the University of Iowa College of Nursing (UICON) where she teaches in the Health-Systems Administration/Executive Leadership Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program. Prior to joining the UICON, Bakken was a founding faculty member and Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Pharmacy Manager at Children’s Wisconsin where she was responsible for strategic planning, practice advancement, education, and residency programs within the pharmacy department.
Lauren Osadczuk, PharmD (she/her/hers) is a PGY1/MS health-system pharmacy administration and leadership resident at Cleveland Clinic. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University in 2023 and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Pharmacy Leadership at the University of Cincinnati.
Megan Byrne, PharmD, MS (she/her/hers) is a second-year health-system pharmacy administration and leadership resident at the University of North Carolina Medical Center (Chapel Hill, NC). She studied Biochemistry at Temple University (Philadelphia, PA) and received her PharmD from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (Chapel Hill, NC). Megan is a member of the ASHP PALRC Resident Resources Workgroup. After residency, she will be joining Cone Health (Greensboro, NC) as their Oncology Pharmacy Manager.
Jake Noble, PharmD, MPH, (he/him/his) is a PGY1 HSPAL resident for Mayo Clinic - Rochester. A graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, his practice interests include oncology, informatics and clinical practice management. Currently pursuing an M.S. in Healthcare Administration, Jake is an active member in the PALRC HSPAL Resident Resources Workgroup and leads the podcast section. In his free time, he enjoys laser burning, trying new restaurants and traveling.
