The podcast will discuss challenges with clinical decision support implementation, including common problems and solutions to ensure effective and timely implementation. We will cover working with third party data, maintenance considerations, prioritization and governance, and communication strategies to support implementation.
SPEAKERS
Derek Rhodes, PharmD, BCPS, DPLA, (he/him/his) is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh (2011) and completed residency training at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia, SC. He has worked in informatics and pharmacy leadership roles since 2016 and is a 2021 graduate of the ASHP pharmacy leadership academy. He is currently manager of the pharmacy informatics/automation teams at Prisma Health.
Kendall Gross, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP, (she/her) is the manager of the Pharmacy Informatics Team at UCSF Health. She received her PharmD from the University of Georgia and completed residency training at the University of Kentucky before joining UCSF. Through improvement work as a clinician, she developed an interest in using technology to drive high value care and established a new Clinical Informatics role. She now leads an informatics team focused on optimizing medication-use systems by leveraging informatics, analytics and automation.
Alaina Darby, PharmD, BCPS, (she/her) is a pharmacy informatics specialist at the Cleveland Clinic. In her role, she primarily supports medication-related workflows in ambulatory settings, such as clinics, infusion centers, and retail pharmacy locations. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exercise, traveling, attending concerts, and trivia nights with her friends.
Stephen Lemon, PharmD, FCCM, BCCCP, BCPS, (he/him) is a pharmacy informatics clinical pharmacy specialist at UF Health Shands and has 10+ years of experience translating evidence-based medicine into electronic medical record (Epic) enhancements to improve patient care. Using information technology to solve complex problems is his passion. Stephen collaborates with other professionals to improve patient care through enhancing processes and implementing efficiencies using information technology, and this is his favorite aspect of pharmacy and healthcare.
