Through a series of podcasts, members of the Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners discuss the state of specialty pharmacy during the COVID-19 pandemic and how practice continues to adapt and evolve. During this podcast, speakers highlight strategies to engage team members and assess employee satisfaction and wellness as new staffing models emerge.

Michael DeCoske currently serves as Assistant Vice President of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services at Baptist Health South Florida in Miami, Florida. Prior to this role, he served as Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer for Ambulatory Services at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. DeCoske completed a PGY1 and Health System Pharmacy Administration (PGY2) Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. He completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. DeCoske is committed to professional pharmacy involvement. He currently serves as a member of the ASHP Section of Specialty Pharmacy Practitioners Business Development Section Advisory Group. He is a co-author of the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Field Guide and the ASHP Specialty Pharmacy Resource Guide. DeCoske holds distinction as a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.
Allison Trawinski is an Assistant Director of Specialty Pharmacy at UR Medicine in Rochester, NY. She is also a residency director for PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Specialty Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency. She believes employee engagement is one of the key elements to a successful team and is passionate about bringing diversity, equity, and inclusion to the workplace.
Michael Gannon is the Assistant Director of Specialty Pharmacy Operations at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) and Clinical Assistant Professor at UIC's College of Pharmacy (COP). Mike graduated from UIC's COP and completed a PGY1 Managed Care Specialty Pharmacy residency with CVS Health. Mike led efforts to scale mail order operations and served as an interim leader for specialty pharmacy during the initial months of the pandemic.
